Connected to my main system a 2 channel rig; the sound is truly McIntosh signature; deep bass, smooth mids, and slightly rolled off top-end. Listening to a section of jazz heavy with horns and double bass, the stage was really impressive! Every instrument correctly in place 3D field. In the current setup I chose a bridged mode, each channel 100 Watts driving my JBL LS80 speakers and their is far more power than needed. In this configuration with 2 more bridged channels available and additional cables I could have bi-amped my speakers.
The only nuance is a slight transformer buzz, diagnosed as slightly loose laminations varnish. This is only a problem if your within 2' of the amp running in a quite room. It does not affect the performance of the transformer.
